How to understand CBD Oil (Cannabidiol) product strength and calculate your CBD dosage
Use this equation to calculate product strength:
MG PER ML = (mg CBD) ÷ (ml container volume) >> e.g 750mg ÷ 30ml = 25mg per ml
Use this equation to calculate cost per ml
PRICE PER ML = (mg CBD) ÷ (unit price) >> e.g. 750mg ÷ $108 = $6.94 per mg
As a guide for dosage: 1 drop = .05ml / 20 drops = 1ml

Cannabis and Cannabidiol (CBD) in North Carolina NC (5 August 2017)
North Carolina has among the most restrictive cannabis laws in the USA.
Medical Cannabis in North Carolina
At the time of writing the state currently has no comprehensive medical cannabis policy. North Carolina signed a ‘CBD only’ (House Bill 1220) into law in July 2014 which like most other cannabinoid laws only gives intractable epilepsy patients access to hemp extracts. The bill states that the CBD oil must contain at least 5% cannabidiol (CBD) and less than 0.9% tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) – the bill doesn’t contain any provisions to produce or distribute the cannabis oil within the state.
Whilst the state legislature has introduced multiple medical cannabis bills, none have ever been signed into law. Most recently in April 2016, House Bill 983 was introduced, however the legislative session ended with the bill remaining in the Committee on Health.
CBD from Hemp Oil in North Carolina
Consumption of CBD hemp oil is federally legal since CBD hemp oil falls under the same importation and commerce laws as other hemp products. However, North Carolina enacted legislation specifically relating to hemp oil, so it is unclear whether the state’s law would protect those not registered with the state’s medical program.
Recreational Cannabis in North Carolina
Before the beginning of the process of legalization and decriminalization in the United States over the last several years North Carolina was actually one of the most lenient states for cannabis possession penalties.
Possession of 0.5 ounces or less of cannabis is a Class 3 misdemeanor and can get you a maximum fine of $200. Possession of 0.5 to 1.5 ounces is a Class 1 misdemeanor offense punishable by up to 45 days in jail and a fine of up to $1,000. Possession of more than 1.5 ounces is a Class 1 felony offense, punishable by 3 to 8 months imprisonment and a discretionary fine.
Crimes involving sale, delivery, the intent to distribute, or cultivation are also felonies.
Cultivation of Cannabis in North Carolina
Cultivating cannabis for personal or medical purposes is illegal in North Carolina. Cannabis cultivation is a felony with even cultivation of small amounts leading to as much as 8 months in prison and a $1,000 fine.
In October 2015 a bill legalizing industrial hemp cultivation became law. Under Senate Bill 313 a new industrial hemp commission will manage the commercial growers and researchers of the statewide program.
About North Carolina (NC)
North Carolinas diverse economy owes a great deal to the availability of hydroelectric power, pleasant climate and rich fertile soils.
North Carolina is a major producer of tobacco, textiles, and furniture. Charlotte is the state capital and largest city and is a major textile and trade center. In 2010 North Carolina’s total gross state product was $424.9 billion against a state debt in estimated in 2012 at anywhere between US$2.4bn and US$57.8bn. In 2010 North Carolina was chosen as the third-best state for business by Forbes Magazine, and the second-best state by Chief Executive Officer Magazine. North Carolina is the leading U.S. state in production of flue-cured tobacco and sweet potatoes, and comes second in the farming of pigs and hogs, trout, and turkeys.
Survey data from 2010-2014 suggested that North Carolina’s median household income was $46,693 ranking it forty-first out of fifty states for average household income. North Carolina has poor and has the fourteenth highest poverty rate in the nation. 17.6%. 13% of families were below the poverty line at last count
Since 2000, there has been a big difference between economic growth of North Carolina’s urban and rural areas. North Carolina’s urban areas have seen prosperity and steady job growth, low unemployment, and rising wages. At the same time a lot of rural counties have suffered from job losses, rising levels of poverty, and population loss as manufacturing has declined. It is estimated that half of North Carolina’s 100 counties have reduced in population since 2010. This seems to be mostly due to the poor economy in many of North Carolina’s rural areas. The population of the state’s urban areas is steadily increasing however.
